In short, there is no difference.
As a certified Independent Civil Celebrant in the UK and an Ordained Officiant in the USA, I operate completely independently from any religious organizations.
This independence allows us to tailor your ceremony to your unique preferences, whether it’s a Wedding, Baby Naming, Vow Renewal, or Funeral service.
Unlike a Humanist Celebrant, a member of the clergy or a religious pastor or priest, an Independent Civil Celebrant can incorporate any elements of worship, such as prayers, psalms, hymns, or bible readings, or absolutely none at all.
This flexibility means we can design a ceremony that ranges from partly religious to entirely non-religious, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your needs.
